Under the Constitution, Senators have very few duties. One of those is to advise and consent in the matter of judicial appointments.
Currently, 54 members of the US Senate, including the President Pro Tem, are flatly refusing to fulfill that duty.
We are often told that government should be "run more like a business." We know of no business owner who would continue to pay employees who openly refused to do their jobs.
Therefore, we petition the President to instruct the Secretary of the Treasury to stop issuing the salaries of those senators who refuse to meet and hear the President's nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Merrick Garland.
