People in prison are allowed to pursue gender reassignment. The taxpayers are paying the expenses incurred when prisoners want hormones and surgery to change their gender. Prisoners have or should have limited rights, and this is not a necessary right. If they have been sent to prison and their "condition" is chronic or life threatening, those should be treated. Not gender changing. It also gives them time in a hospital, which I have heard is their preference vs being in a prison and will go to great lengths to fake illnesses so they are sent to a hospital.
