stop paying the government for days and time not spent working. Government shutdowns should be no pay to officials.

Created by R.S. on March 06, 2013

With all of the filibustering and government shutdowns that keep occurring due to alternate stances on issues, it is time that the government stops getting paid for time they are not working. The government is FOR THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE which means the government works for it's CITIZENS. By not completing work, government officials must forfeit pay in the same way the common citizen would not get paid if they did not go to their job. That means if the government wants to sit in a meeting for 6 days and not pass a bill, that's 6 days of no pay. That also means if the government decides they can't agree and they have to "shutdown" no pay. The sacrificed wages are better served towards paying off the deficit than going into lazy workers pockets.
