The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis...”.
This means that even Chaplains who are ASKED to give spiritual guidance could be punished -- even with jail time -- for sharing ANYTHING specific about faith! This makes no sense! If someone asks you about your faith, you should be able to answer honestly without fear of court martial! Yet, the Pentagon wants the power to decide whether or not what you say could be considered "proselytization" The fact that this is even being considered is a violation of the First Amendment!
