This petition addresses such cases by assigning Federal Case Numbers to egregious offenses only, such as physical beatings, torture, and deaths associated with the police agencies. If you can recall, a man was arrested for 'drunken intoxication' by police in Florida, while in custody he was strapped to a chair and repeatedly pepper sprayed by police until he was hospitalized and eventually died of heart failure. This is murder – the FBI should have been immediately notified, but wasn't. To my knowledge this case is floundering in legal limbo. This is just one example of many—Not one Congress person or Senator has addressed excessive force taken by police—this petition may put an end to their lack of concern.
