There are too many dogs shot dead by police officers on duty. These are unnecessary deaths. A grown man or woman should be in control enough to deter a dog without firing their gun, and if they can't control a dog, they shouldn't be given use of a firearm in the first place. This senseless murder has to stop. It should not be OK for an Officer to shoot a dog when the dog is only doing what they are supposed to do and protecting their home and their family.
