We the people should not have to fear for our safety, when encountering the police. However, in recent times, the incidence of individuals being brutally beaten or even killed by the police have become all to common. We are no longer in a time where the police seem to uphold their motto of "to protect and serve," rather we have entered a period where the police are there to subdue the general population.
With the current methods of training within the police force, the general public are seen as a risk to all officers. This mentality leads to unnecessary violence perpetrated on an unsuspecting public. We request a change in police training from a militaristic style of shoot and ask questions later to a training style which will treat the general public with the decency we deserve.
