Hello, I am creating this petition to raise awareness of Biological Warfare.
First off, Biological warfare is the use of viruses, diseases or bacteria on other humans with the intention to kill or as an act of war.
Secondly, Offensive biological warfare was outlawed in 1972 and is now considered a crime against humanity. However, this does NOT stop it from being practiced.
An example of this is an eradicated virus, Smallpox.
Smallpox is a virus with a 35% mortality rate that was eradicated in 1979. It is transmissible by air.
Although smallpox is eliminated that does not mean there are not samples of it in labs. Smallpox has been used as a biological weapon and could be used again if we do not raise awareness of it.
