Stop pressuring Taiwan to import US beef

On Thursday, March 15, 2012, a bipartisan group of 68 US lawmakers sent a letter to US Trade Representative Ron Kirk and US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. “We encourage Taiwan to allow science, not politics, to determine import standards for US pork and beef products,” the letter said. Why is the US government pressuring Taiwan to import this beef while China and European Union also ban the importation of US beef? If you insist on pressuring Taiwan than I would expect to see our government do the same to the European Union and communist China.
