American food companies are using deceptive chemical ingredients and dishonest marketing of fruit in products. Consumers are made to believe that they are eating the beautiful fruit in the photos where in reality they are getting artificial colors, hydrogenated oils and liquid sugars.
The FTC should ban this business practice, fine the companies who are fooling consumers and recall the products off the shelves.
If fresh produce is going to be printed on the packaging, then it better be in the ingredients, and not substituted.
Kellogg, Betty Crocker, General Mills and Target all use this tactic to misrepresent the food in their actual products, when in actuality they could be using real fruits such a blueberries and strawberries. Nature's Path uses real fruit, why can't everyone?
