On behalf of the citizens of the bay area in California, As many people have noted before in the Forum, the possibility of the Keystone XL Pipeline being laid through our country to move tar sands oil south to a refinery on the Gulf Coast is full of dangers and unknown consequences we would do well to avoid. I would like to point out and emphasize the adverse health effects now ravaging the native communities that live in or near the mining site. They are dealing with toxic water, dead and deformed fish, contaminated rivers, dead ducks and geese that land in the holding ponds and, most critically, increasing incidences of cancer. This deadly operation has to stop. We must not be party to such pillaging of the environment and concurrently of human beings.
