Stop production of the Penny from the Department of the Treasury.

To stop the production of the United States penny would help reduce the spending of the national government and save money over the course of several years. With the elimination of the cent from circulation it would require all prices to be rounded up to the closest nickel. This is one simple step that can be done to help reduce the billions that are spent to keep our coinage in circulation. The US cent is largely unpopular with the american consumer and is deemed to be a pain. Most often times the Penny is just thrown aside as a junk coin. On any given day you can find countless pennies on the ground and post people wont take the time to pick them up cause they have almost no value. The elimation of the cent would be a win - win for everyone.
