We are petitioning the government to stop the production of the US penny as it is too expensive to produce. It costs 1.8 pennies to make one penny meaning the government spends around 12,726,000,000 to make 7,070,000,000 pennies. If we get 100,000 signatures we can make this a reality and save the US billions of dollars and save on some fuel that it takes to run the machines that mint pennies.
