Propane prices through many cooperatives in the Midwest are now over $4/gallon. My "pre-buy" price was $1.45/gallon. The prices have now tripled. Many of the cooperatives are now also imposing a "delivery surcharge" of $50-$90 to deliver propane to our homes.
There is NO evidence of a propane shortage. The issue appears to be a "lag" in getting the propane to the Midwest. We The People cannot afford up to $1,700 per visit of filling our tanks, to heat our homes, to keep our children warm, to cook our food.
We The People ask that you declare the entire Midwest in a "state of emergency"; that you make propane delivery to our homes a top priority; that you prevent the cooperatives/supplies from excessive overpricing and make them remove the imposed "delivery surcharge".
