As the Obama administration takes the White House, him and his staff have many issues to face. One of these is the Keystone XL Pipeline's construction. The environmental and economic impact of constructing this pipeline is mostly ignored. According to a Cornell University study over such pipelines, they found that they could generate "over a period of 50 years, over 91 major spills". Tar sand is the main substance being transported and is a mixture of silt, clay and oil, which is very difficult to clean up due to the fact that they sink when contaminating water. The job loss and health risks due to the water contamination (in sectors such as Farming, Ranching and Tourism) are wide reaching. Please reconsider the construction of this danger to our health, our economy, and our environment.
