Bristol Bay Alaska is one of America's greatest environmental treasures: supporting Native communities, abundant wildlife, national parks and refuges and one of the world's largest salmon fisheries. The proposed Canadian Pebble Copper Mine would destroy this pristine environment and violate every Federal environmental regulation. Large scale copper mining in a headwaters area critical to environmental quality and local economies would devastate this pristine area, affecting native and local communities and is situated in an earthquake prone area. Such an event would breach earthen dams that would be constructed to hold toxic waste. Stop the proposal immediately as it does not serve the interests of this country and Bristol Bay communities.
