Stop the Prosecution of Non-violent Drug Offenders

Created by N.W. on May 08, 2016

To solve this problem of repeated drug offenders America needs to change toward a path of treatment rather then prosecution. Countries whose drug policy remains focused on punishing offenders, such as America, much of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, should learn from a Swiss strategy that protects both users and communities. Instead of sentencing drug addicts to prison time, another alternative would be to give drugs addicts treatment in rehabilitation centers so they can work towards getting clean rather then participating in more illegal activities introduced to them in prison. These progressive reforms provide American citizens with a system that cares for their well being.
