The Obama administration needs to enact laws that stop organizations from using funerals as soapboxes to spread hate speech. A chief example of this is the Westboro Baptist Church picketing funerals of military service members and victims of national tragedies, such as the Newtown killings.
Let's expand The Respect for America's Fallen Heroes Act and The Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012 to encompass all funerals for victims of national tragedies at all cemeteries nationwide.
As evidenced by other petitions, Americans are tired of the Westboro Baptist Church's hate speech. Let's put an end to these protests out of respect for our deceased.
