Stop Public Funding of Sports Stadiums

Every few years, a professional sports team is able to strong-arm a locality to publicly finance a new stadium to keep the team in the city. This is done because of the immense leverage that professional sports teams have due to their economic impact and investment by the local community. The Federal government should re-negotiate its anti-trust agreements to prevent public funds to be spent by localities for teams' stadiums, using the leverage congress hold with anti-trust law. This would prevent localities from being set against each other, and teams moving to find a locality willing to pay for a new, unnecessary stadium
