In many public schools across the nation our children are taught that being different is not OK. If they want to express themselves through hair color, tattoos or piercings, they are being turned away from schools. Some schools go as far as controlling the length and style of the hair of our children as well.
Is that what we want to teach our children? We want to teach them that being different is not OK? That conforming to what society deems "normal" is what they should strive for?
Where are the studies even proving that this is a distraction to other student's abilities to learn? It is an excuse to bully our children into never being different or standing out. Please fight for our children, not against them.
