Public utility companies such as Consolidated Edison and other utility companies across the nation are extremely unfair by overcharging customers for electric that they are not using. Customers should only be charged for the electric that they are using within their homes or businesses. There are people who are elderly, disabled, and on fixed-incomes; most of them believe they have no choice, except to pay these bills, or face having their services disconnected. There should be a bill introduced within Congress to stop the deceitful and unfair business practice of grossly overcharging customers for energy usage.
