W2's are sent through the mail, more times than less and contain our entire social security number. Despite it being a federal crime to steal mail, authority is not watching everyone's mailboxes at all times to catch a thief. We know our own social security number so what is the point in putting the first 5 digits instead of x's? It's a perfect set up for someone to file your taxes online without you knowing. This has to stop before more people have their identity stolen.
