Stop the raises to government officials when the rest of the Untied States struggles for food.

While our economy is struggling, those in government continue to receive raises and benefit hikes. We, as hard working people, should not have to struggle to pay basic bills as D.C. receives hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and a cushy benefits plan. According to "Congressional Salaries and Allowances" released January 7, 2014, a member of congress recieves $174,000 a year, plus over $1,000,000 dollars in operating expenses. It's completely ridiculous that we should suffer as a people while many live the "high life".
