Thousands in the Congo face rape, torture, and death everyday at the hands of M23 rebels. The Rwandan government supports these rebels by providing soldiers, arms, and money. 250,000 women were raped in the Congo by this group and groups like it. The US enacted the senate bill s.2125 concerning the Congo. Section 105 says that if the US has considerable evidence against a country for trying to destabilize the Congo we can deny that country all aid but for humanitarian, peacekeeping and counter-terrorism. It was passed in '06 but it hasn't been utilized to prevent these atrocities. We urge the US to tell Rwanda that we will enforce this policy if they continue to support these murderers, and if the Rwandans continue to support them we should stop aid to Rwanda. We can't allow this to go on.
