Reciprocity laws are a good concept at first look. If your license is suspended for DUI, DWI, or any other traffic violation in a state that you do not reside in, your home state will also suspend your license.
However, this does not mean that the home state accepts the terms of suspension set forth in the prosecuting state. Meaning, that you are subject to two, possibly different, sets of rules and laws. You must also satisfy two different states' regulations to get your suspension lifted.
In my opinion, you are being prosecuted twice for the same crime. Although you are facing civil, not legal, prosecution. This is still double jeopardy, which is against the Constitution.
Furthermore, you are not able to be represented at all in your home state.
