Stop the recruitment of children to fight for the Central African Republic

Created by J.A. on February 23, 2014

An estimated 6,000 children are involved in fighting in the Central African Republic. Kids are being recruited on all sides, with reasons including poverty, despair, desire for revenge, and the general lack of options for children, and there have been many reports of girls being used as sex slaves. With the escalation of fighting and the amount of civilians emerging to defend themselves, the amount of kids went from 2,000 and quickly escalated to 6,000. Many of the children who are fighting and holding heavy weapons are barely hitting the preteen/teen age. We must end the cruel, unjust recruitment of children in the Central African Republic.
