Stop referring to ISIS as the Islamic State.

We ask that you stop referring to ISIS as the Islamic State. When government spokespersons, officials, politicians and news outlets call them ISIS, they create a harmful connection between those people committing terrorist acts and millions of innocent and peaceful Muslims who share in the collective horror felt after every terrorist attack. There is precedent for calling ISIS by some other name. The president of France refers to them as the Daesh, which the terrorists do not like. Renowned Islamic leaders in Britain and the US have called for their name change due to the negative perception it creates. Businesses, organizations and even people have petitioned for the name change due to the negative impact it has on them because they have the same name. Please reconsider this policy.
