Stop referring to the united states as a democracy and recognize it as a republic as stated in the constitution

Created by R.G. on January 08, 2013

The elected officials in the white house and many other elected officials refer to the united states as a democracy, and it is far from a democracy. In fact the constitution never refers to the united states as a democracy but as a republic. the founding fathers of our country created America as a republic and our elected officials need to stop referring to it as a democracy and recognize we have a republican form of government. Article 4 section 4 of the united states constitution states "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence"
