Since the banning and removal of the Confederate flag there has been a significant increase in violence. People are being attacked for flying the flag, when before it wouldn't have been given a second thought. It seems ridiculous to do something that is causing more harm than good.
Hate groups have adopted Confederate flags along with the U.S. flag and Christian flag at their rallies. These groups have no business flying a Christian flag if they hate others, and no business flying a Confederate flag if they hate others and don’t understand the cause for which it was created. Yes, the South had slaves during the War Between the States, but so did the North. When President Lincoln gave his emancipation speech, it says only freeing the slaves in “rebellious” states, not the Union states.
