With new cutbacks to our armed forces comes more Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen being involuntarily separated from their careers.
When these personnel are involuntarily separated they are given a pathetic excuse for a severance package.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, the personnel who qualify for VA disability from injuries sustained serving the people of the United States are then forced to forfeit their disability checks until they pay back the severance package for their discharge.
This must change!
1st, STOP repayment of severance pay.
2nd, Increase amounts given in severance packages.
3rd, Instead of severance offer these Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen who would have continued faithfully serving their Country an early retirement. (as early as 10 years of service, at a reduced rate)
