Stop retail companies from taking Thanksgiving day away from workers by opening for Black Friday BEFORE Black Friday.

Created by K.S. on November 08, 2014

In recent years retail companies i.e. Target, Walmart, Kohl’s etc... Have been opening their doors for Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day. They have done this with the belief that they will gain greater profits by opening earlier to beat out their competitors. Yet this has created a larger issue. Instead of families gathering, giving thanks, and enjoying each other’s company, they now have to rush because their work opens for Black Friday deals at 6pm, or earlier, Thursday. While most companies offer some extra pay, it’s simply not enough to justify the destruction of a national holiday Thanksgiving in the name of profit. Black Friday should be on Friday not Thursday.
