Stop the sale of Advanced Helicopter Carriers from France to Russia.

Created by G.Z. on May 09, 2014

After the invasion of Georgia in 2008, Russia recognized that it was unable to adequately control the Georgian coast. As a result, they have sought foreign military technology. In August 2009, Russia agreed to purchase 2 French Mistral class amphibious assault ships, along with engineering and project management expertise. The first ship will be delivered in October 2014. The second in March 2015. When these ships are fully armed, Russia will increase its threat to all Black Sea nations, and the world in general. Russia is not a partner to NATO; It has openly flouted international law and used military force to to achieve political goals. This sale should not be allowed to proceed as it is a direct threat to NATO and other peaceful nations.
