Every year about 100,000,000 sharks are killed. Within a few decades the population will become extinct. Would you like to guess why? To add texture to soup. Yes 100 million sharks each year are being killed to add texture to soup. They are all hunted and brutally beaten(generally with a baton or sharp stake) and then they are de-finned and thrown in the water, left to drown to death. Yes all for fins to add texture to a soup.
