The Senate Armed Services Committee has inserted language in its version of the fiscal 2016 defense authorization bill that will directly impact dual-military married couples.
The Senate bill, in both circumstances of having dependents or not, would allow only the higher-ranking member in dual-service marriage to draw any BAH, though at the higher with-dependents rate. The other military member would be ineligible for BAH.
Civilians spouses are free to earn as much as they can find someone willing to pay them. Yet this bill puts nothing in place to adjust their BAH as well. So why would you do that to a dual-service marriage simply because they work for the same boss?
The proposed changes to this bill are unjust and unfairly targets dual-military married couples and needs to be stopped.
