Stop Senator John F. Kerry's nomination as Secretary of State because of insider trading and improper stock purchases

Created by R.R. on December 27, 2012

President Obama should pull Senator John Kerry's nomination because of his lucrative insider trading investments in stocks from pharmaceutical and health insurance companies during the Medicare Drug benefit debate in 2003. According to author Peter Schweizer, after passage of this bill, he and his wife "netted capital gains of between $100,000 and $1 million with their Oxford Health Plans investment alone. They also netted in capital gains from Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Cardinal Health stocks." Senator Kerry as well as other prominent politicians should not be allowed to engage in insider trading while others go to jail for the same type of offense. Thus, I believe his nomination should be pulled to set an example for others who gain financially through their political positions.
