Our financial problems as a nation can be resolved with the same financial boundaries used by responsible citizens. Rule number one: Pay our bills first. Rule number two: Don't give monies away to charity causes unless our bills are paid first. Rule number three: Prioritize spending. My father used to teach me that there are wants, and there are needs. Take care of the needs before you take care of the wants.
We send a huge amount of our tax dollars overseas to countries that are experiencing trouble. Any kind of trouble. We have decided that we are the parental units for the world. That idealogy may have made sense at one time, however it is just plain crazy to continue to do so while we are all worrying over bankruptcy, debt ceilings, defaults. We are not the worlds caretaker.
