stop shipments by rail of oil unless all volatile gas is removed before shipment.

Created by D.B. on March 25, 2015

We would like President Obama to use his Executive Order and Powers to require the National Railroad Safety Administration to require all shippers of oil on railroads to remove volatile gas before shipment. It is standard practice in Texas.

There have been five oil trains crashed and burned in the U.S. in the last sixteen months. The fires were so hot that the firemen had to allow the fires to "burn out." The fires were so hot and explosive because in North Dakota they do not process the oil to remove the volatile gas before they load it onto the train. It's like carrying a huge, highly unstable bomb(s) right through many major cities.
