The people of Yarmouk in the city of Al Raqqa, Northern Syria have been dying of hunger and malnutrition due to the siege on the city caused by the violence that has erupted in the past few months.
UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness said "The profound civilian suffering in Yarmouk deepens, with reports of widespread malnutrition and the absence of medical care, including for those who have severe conflict-related injuries and... women in childbirth, with fatal consequences for some women,"
As concerned citizens, we call on the UN and the United States Government to unblock the siege and allow aid convoy carrying food parcels for those trapped in the camp.
