Our taxes are going to pay for the largest mass horse slaughter in history, along with the extinction of American icons. 45,000 of them. Mustangs and burros are our national heritage. Icons of our past history and a living connection to it. These American icons and the land on which they are supposed to live belong to ALL Americans, and are supposed to be protected by the BLM under congressional law. It is public land. Parts of many national park systems. These Mustangs and burros have direct lineage dating back to their Spanish origin following Columbus. The BLM has betrayed their trust for cattle interests and profits which want to expand even further onto OUR land to graze their cattle virtually free.
