Mr. President, while campaigning you stated that you would oppose and would uphold the ban on the slaughter of US horses; however, the budget you signed off on last year reinstated the option of funding horse slaughter in this country.
This is an unsafe practice and known to cause cancers in children especially when eaten in small amounts. This is a well known fact and therefore horsemeat should not be promoted for consumption. The United States was founded on the back of these truly majestic animals and they should not be treated like cattle.
To correct your error, please sign an executive order that makes it illegal to slaughter any horse in the US, and prohibits exporting US horses for slaughter.
