Allowing stock traders to buy and sell futures in the oil industry has unnaturally inflated the price of gas and caused dramatic spikes in gas prices. We are seeing this happen again and again, and while it is lining the pockets of a relatively few investors, it is affecting millions of Americans every day. Speculating on oil and gas futures also leaves the prices vulnerable to price manipulation, insider trading and "double dipping" as gas and oil companies also buy into their own futures. This is insane and it must be stopped. Ban all oil and gasoline speculative/future trading and put a stop to the escalating gas prices.
