Back when Washington was in office when he wanted to have a fancy dinner with foriegn officials or anyone he would have to pay for it out of his own pocket. Some presidents, back then, left the white house in debt after there service to our country. I believe in these times of debt we need to return to these same measures. Politicians should not be rich after there service. They should be an average citizen like you and I. They should have to work like us once they are out of office, not get everything handed to them for the rest of there lives, even the president.
We the people are fiscally responsible, balance our check books, and make sure our families are able to survive. How come the government can't do this for us? They are not supporting us as there children/family.
