We cannot continue to borrow money. The economy has been picking up, but the debt continues to grow faster than we can recover.
To alleviate this, we need to curtail spending. All spending should be reduced by the percentage amount that the government is short. For example, if we only have 90% of the revenue we need, then all government employees should only be paid 90% of their salary. Companies aren't afraid to deliver late and deliver partial or substandard results to the US govt, so we should not be afraid to deliver 90% (in this scenario) of any outstanding payments.
Non-essential items like foreign aid should be dropped in favor of meeting obligations to our citizens.
