I live in the Rio Grande Valley and find it unsettling that local school districts have buses stop at the port of entry to pick up students. Whether these students are legal or illegal, these students do not reside in the United States. As a consequence, citizens of the United States are funding the education of students who live in Mexico, which is at best ludicrous and is at worst a misappropriation of federal, state, and local funds.
Put simply, United States citizens should not be paying the bill to educate Mexicans. Mexico should. If you live in Mexico, you should be educated by Mexico. It's as simple as that.
