The Social Security Administration currently reduces payments to people who have earned the right to collect Social Security and also earned the right to collect retirement benefits from States (eg Massachusetts), because the states (only a few) do not pay into Social Security. It is not fair to cut benefits when one has earned them.
If one has worked only for such a state or only for a private employer, one gets full benefits. It is only those who work for both that are penalized and only penalized by Social Security
It is simply unfair and unjustified.
The people who have earned benefits are being punished because the states do not pay into Social Security. The states are not punished. It seems to be unconstitutional under equal treatment.
