Being a person with a suspended driver's license as well as a father, son and brother I know first hand of the huge burden, inconvenience and stress that comes along with not having a valid driver's license. Although possessing a valid driver's license is a privilege, I feel as though it is counterproductive to suspend someones license for petty or misdemeanor crimes especially in cases that don't involve driving or anything to do with a vehicle or being in a vehicle like non payment of child support or possession of a small amount of marijuana etc. I feel as though ending these practices and/or allowing a second chance or fresh start for "suspendees" would benefit the individual as well as the community in the sense that it would result in less illegal drivers and provide safer commuting.
