Stop the "Stop Online Piracy Act"

Created by S.P. on October 26, 2011

The Stop Online Piracy Act act is a step too far. The amount of power it grants is too broad with too few checks and balances. It has an absurdly high potential for abuse, on nothing more than the holders word, and it WILL be abused. The court system is our primary check and balance in this country. Removing that check and balance means that people will be targeted, without chance to defend themselves, and without the IP holder really needing to prove much of anything. Too much power with too little constraint. Piracy needs a solution, but this isn't it.
