Stop the stripping of citizenship from Dominican children of Haitian Ancestry

Created by R.P. on October 19, 2013

We, citizens and friends of Haiti, petition the President of United States to step in and stop the Dominican Republic Government from stripping thousands of Dominicans citizens of Haitian Descents of their Dominican citizenship.

This is against established international laws and therefore call on the President and his government and its citizens, to prevent this tragedy from happening. If we do not act, thousands of innocent Dominican citizens of Haitian parents, grand parents, and great grand parents will become stateless. The vast majority of those targeted have no connections to any other country and only know the language and culture of the Dominican Republic. We demand that this law be reversed and those Dominican citizens be allowed to keep their citizenship. Thank you in advance.
