STOP STUDENT LOANS FROM REPORTING ON CREDIT FILE UNTIL THEY ARE IN REPAYMENT

Created by L.D. on May 15, 2015

Student loans reporting on credit file increase debt to income ratio and lowers your credit scores...even before they are actually due. This severely inhibits students from having good credit which they can use to secure apartments, cars, and additional credit lines, which is imperative when trying to gain independence. Student loans should be prohibited from reporting on your credit file until they actually become due--which is six months after you have left school or graduated.
