Right now, The United States have the largest oil reserves on the planet. Electric cars cripple both the economy and the environment. Here's why:
Electric cars have a battery life of 1 year
Car batteries are made of mercury. They have to be handled properly for 30 years before they can go to land fills. (Longer than Uranium!)
And Oil? Burning it emits Carbon dioxide...which settles on water...which sinks to the bottom of the sea...then amoebas eat it all and spit out loads of oxygen...yeah, pretty devastating alright.
Another thing, If there were no taxes on petroleum and more drilling was allowed, then electric vehicles would be 10 times more expensive- what in an electric car it would cost 5$ to go 50 miles... it cost .50 in a petrol car...right now? Still makes more economic sense.
